Just to emphasize the issue of creators and confidence, I tell on my girlfriend

By we, I mean, Deb. Deb has selected the next two songs for me to record. She has informed me that she is my manager, creative director, mentor/coach, and, lest I forget, Lord On High/Queen of ALL She Surveys.

Immediately following this declaration, she sent me to get her coffee.

Sex & Greed: AKA Clickbait

I don’t know if greed is clickbait but sex definitely is.

Deb selected my songs, The Night is not for Sleeping & Good Love, for my next acoustic recordings.

The titles that MIGHT make you believe both songs are about sex. That is not the case.

The Night is not for Sleeping

This song is about sex/making love. But, and this is important, it is lyrically G-rated. I love nuanced wordplay and believe I do a fairly decent job with this song.

Good Love

Good love is about greed and losing sight of what’s truly important.

I am significantly less confident in being able to deliver Good Love in two weeks (my objective), so I have a fallback song, Make You Feel.

Good Love stretches me both in how it is played and in the verses. The verses are a rap. That is far outside my wheelhouse and comfort zone. But I’m leaning into it and I will get the song recorded.
