This song is excellent:

Among other things, the rhyme scheme is congruent with the mood of the poem/song.

Quite a few stanzas have this rhyme scheme: A A A B

That sort of rhymee scheme evokes the feeling that there is no answer, or redeeming future that will repair our losses, or an answer to the problems of life.

Why?

Because the repetion of the same sound at the ends of three lines suggests that there may be an "answer to life," but the sound at the end of the 4th line deviates from the prior three and says, "There is no pattern."

And the aural sense that there is no redeeming answer to our problems is very much like the feeling one might have at the end of a relationship.

Poetry is always superior when the rhythm or rhyme faciliates the evocation of the feeling or idea of the poem.

I hope I am being clear.

Also, the music is damn good. It has a brisk , buoyant quality that portrays a man who wlll stand tall after his love affair has soured. Also, I hope this won't upset you, but that brisk and buoyant quality reminded me of the partridge family. I know their music might be thought of as real bubblegum, but I actually liked it. And it went over COMMERCIALLY

This song may have real commercial possibilities.
