There is one sentence in your post that is packed with the utmost gravity and perceptiveness and which strikes me as one of the most accurate and dismal accounts of the human condition:
"Basic math and probability tells me that, if everything goes right, I have 20, 25, maybe 30 years left to do the silly things we do to feign significance before we are converted back into energy for the next round."
I view it less as dismal and more with sober awareness. But, yeah, that's sentence sums up my birthday thoughts... That and German Chocolate Cake. C'est la vie.
I'm the same. At 65, I'm thinking 20 more years will be fine--25 might be pushing it. I don't worry about it, or fret over it. I actually look forward to it sometimes--I COULD USE THE REST! Looks like you had a great time though!
Yep. I'm not necessarily looking forward to any rest... but I don't have much say in that - minus staying reasonably healthy and avoiding stepping in front of a bus. ;-)
Please piss on a mushroom for me and water it down. The extra dopamine in your system will create a good SHROOM..... and as mike quinn said at the BOWL.... come to me... come to me... come to me.... LOL
Thanks for sharing. You always inspire me. I would love to check out Artica, it seems like my kind of place.
Happy birthday! Sounds like a great trip, and yes, you deserve to be pampered a bit. Enjoy the rest of your trip!
