Hey Matt, I enjoy your writing. Regarding your comment that "War should be illegal". What a wonderful thought, I don't know of anyone that wants war. However, as long as human beings occupy this planet, there will be war. It is unfortunately, inevitable. Therefore, in order to make it illegal it would have to be adopted by all countries and that will never happen. You can't even get a group of people in one room to agree on everything and in some cases, the same family! The closest thing we have to prevent war now is the United Nations and in a lot of ways that is both a failure and is corrupt.
The only thing we can do on a personal and national level is to prepare for harm. Shout out to Mrs Kirk, my 6th grade teacher that made us read Lord of the Flies, followed by a book report.
