Music: Damn Fool Heart of Mine - acoustic performance
A little music, some technology, and can I draw as good as an elephant?
Yep… day late. No excuses, just busy… always busy.

Acoustic Performance (plus)
I’m still working on my produced recording of Damn Fool Heart of Mine.
I got caught a little bit in the weeds, recording a few guitar tracks, some vocal harmonies, a little percussion…. bass… You see what’s happening right?
But… It’s good. And Emiko is going to record some piano and keys later this week.
Here’s a short clip (37 seconds):
I’ve uploaded a performance video on YouTube and, in what I believe is a first, here on Substack as well. I’m not certain there is any reason to upload it here, rather than YouTube. Perhaps to encourage those who are “link averse” to play the video.
I do realize, however, that when uploading here, because I fade into the video, it just shows a black video screen. Most platforms allow you to set a video thumbnail, so prior to the video below is the video thumbnail I uploaded to YouTube. I’ve included it to ensure my post has a cover/default image when shared and as displayed on my Substack home page.

Tech & Other News
I announced on LinkedIn and Facebook, that I’m starting a new consulting contract with MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), helping them design and implement an Airtable database and automation solution.
Airtable is a cloud-based relational database. It looks & feels like a specialized Spreadsheet in its most basic form but allows true relational database linking. Additionally, it has no-code and low-code automations (sending emails, connecting with other databases, conditional data updates, etc.) and a way to rapidly build reasonably complex interfaces.
If you are on LinkedIn, I’ve done a few live streamed workshops/case-studies. Here is a link to one of them.
Don’t sue me if you fall asleep and smash your face on your keyboard while watching. You’ve been warned! Mostly kidding. I give good workshop.
Writing Redo
I’ve been writing nearly every day. Often, given my schedule, I only put 30 minutes into it. Other days, longer. It feels good though… sort of a return to self.
This, along with the music, feeds much of my creative soul. I still have aspirations to learn to draw. I cannot truly allocate the time. I found my drawing pad but from 2013 I’ve only used 8 pages; none of those in the past two years.
Here is a page from that drawing pad:
I grabbed it this morning and realized I cannot find a pencil sharpener anywhere. We had a couple of them but when the grandkids lived with us, they started disappearing. I’m not blaming the kids… but it is their fault! Just sayin’
However, I think I’ll keep the pad at my desk and get a few sharpened pencils.
I’M NOT TAKING ON ANOTHER THING… it is more a way to doodle.
But if my doodle looks interesting, I’ll share it.
Note: I don’t think this is that interesting but…
I doodled this the other day. It was during a phone call. So… if we’re talking and you are too boring, I might be doing this. I call it, “Release the Song”. He looks annoyed, so maybe I should listen to him. If I get famous enough, I’ll release a limited edition, signed & numbered, lithograph!
If an elephant’s art can be sold for profit, I figure I’m solid. Although, upon looking at their art, perhaps I should draw with my nose.
Okay.. that’s it.
Thanks for joining me.

Too bad you are such an underachiever :-).
It's a good thing I am not the jealous type. Well done!
