Lady Love (circa 1988) and addressing the neglected back catalog
Songs stuck in the limbo of the next song I write
On Monday I published my live performance video for the week.
Lady Love is a song I wrote in (or around) 1988. It has a Vegas/Gambler theme and some word play I truly enjoy. The final verse has a line I love:
Here’s advice if your Vegas bound
Drive right on through, don’t stop in that town
Cuz' dice have never rolled eyes of blue
But lady love can, I’ll bet my three to your two
Cool, eh?
In any case, check out the performance. Click like (if you like it).
Video production details (for the nerds):
Audio: 2 mics. MXL 990 on the guitar. Rode NT-1 on the vocals. Recorded into Reaper (DAW) and mixed with a little compression, reverb, and EQ. Output as an mp3 file.
Video: Shot on Canon EOS RP (24-105 F4 lens).
Video Editing: DaVinci Resolve (Black Magic Design)
MY NEGLECTED BACK CATALOG
A short (5 minute) video to discuss a little history of Lady Love and how I’ll be getting to some of those rarely or never performed/recorded songs.
UP NEXT - Answering Questions
I was asked, “How do you learn to play and sing at the same time?”
It won’t surprise you to know that I have some thoughts on that. I’ll share that in my next video.
Have a Question: If you have any questions for me, please feel free to ask in the comments here or the video. Or use this form on my website. I’d love to answer them.
You may ask about: songwriting, writing, creative output, software development, why I like cooking, photography, relationships (note: I’ve been divorced twice so.. caveat emptor), or anything you want.
Thank you for stopping by. It is always appreciated.
Sincerely,
Matthew Moran
