I was up this morning around 3:10am. This afternoon is going to be a bit rough.
But I wanted to rehearse a few songs for Saturday’s performance. Details below.

In my last update I introduced you to my song, Ode, which included a line inspired by Deb’s comment, “I miss my cat and cigarettes.”
I’ve never played the song out but I hope to this Saturday. It is simple and short… and a bit dark & brooding. I set up my Samsung S20 (phone) and my Zoom H1N mic/digital recorder and made an early morning video.
Rain & Irwin were playing in the background. Cute, right? But a little distracting. I had started a recording before this but Irwin was chewing her inflated football toy - which sounds like she’s wheezing and dying. I took it away, hit record, and got this.
There are a few moments you can hear them playing behind me. Consider it arrhythmic / atonal accompaniment. It’s hard to find good players these days.
