I’m moving my music mailing list from mailchimp to this substack.
The reason is pretty simple. Simplicity.
I love mailchimp. I’ve set up many clients to use mailchimp. I find it far-superior to Constant Contact and many other newsletters platforms. I can get to it via its API for more geeky things. I can group and segment and a/b test and… and… and…
But I don’t need any of that for my music and writing updates.
I am intrigued by substack’s simplicity and the fact that past issues show up far more like blog entries. I’m intrigued that they allow podcasting and give an option for paid newsletters.
DON’T WORRY! YOU WILL NOT BE CHARGED ANYTHING!
THIS newsletter is, and will remain, FREE! mostly free.

PATREON IS COMING
We are preparing a Patreon page and will launch it later this month. Yeah… we want to make money from our music and Patreon provides a method to do that. But I also have other content that may be better suited for substack. We’ll see.edit: 1/12/2022
We’re holding off on our Patreon page. We (me) see substack as a simpler tool for providing free and paid content. It also lends itself to long-form writing in a way that Patreon does not.
I’ll explain this all in my next missive.
Note: I wrote this prior to importing my mailing list, so if you are reading this, you’ve found it some other way. Hi.. thanks for showing up.
If you haven’t signed up yet, do it! ;-) Go check out my YouTube channel for music and other stuff.
See ya.
